More than words

Sometimes we forget how lucky we are because we have the ability to see, to touch, to smell and to hear.

What if one day one sense is taken away from you? How will you feel? Perhaps if we do not have the gift to see, we will be able to taste the shapes and smell the colour. Wouldn’t life be more interesting that way?

90/10 principle

“Life is 10 percent what happens to you and 90 percent how you react to it”

In life, we tend to take people for granted. We make our lives even more difficult than it already is by creating unnecessary arguments. Need life be this way? Perhaps we can learn how to alter our lives by altering the attitude of our minds.

Trouble

I believe every teacher has a different quote that they normally use to students. Today, I heard this quote while the students were disturbing him.

“Don’t trouble trouble unless trouble troubles you.”

This is extremely true and often in life, we tend to stir trouble by ourselves. Take it easy and relax, perhaps that’s the way we should handle life.

My blog is just a blog

7 years ago, a teacher walked into my class on the first day of school demanding that we buy this book “7 habits of Highly Effective Teens” by Sean Covey and we did.

7 years later, I picked up this book as a client wanted me to use the “Habits of Mind” to customize the camp for her. It is this very day that I decided the URL for my blog will be “lifeparadigms.wordpress.com” I find it interesting as I am quite a block-head. I am not adaptable to changes and I have a rigid perception of reading self-help books. I used to think these self-improvement books are for losers who hasn’t had experience with the world. Coming from a person who’s done many things in life and has grown a little too quick for her shoes, I see no point in reading a book with which just tells me the boring same old details that I already know. (or have experienced)

I want to be a better individual. I want to shine in whatever I do and most importantly, I want to be able to attain the true meaning of happiness. This is the core reason I have set up this blog. Simply put, it will be where I share effective information about myself and of the interesting quotes I come across.

Irony of life

We come to existence because of our parents who created us. It is funny how people like to jumble it up with religion and how God was the one who created us. I am no firm believer of a particular religion but at least I respect the different religions in the world. I believe there is one God – to which he defines the destiny of life. I believe that you reap what you sow and I believe in Karma. I believe that the world works in a vicious cycle and we are all stuck in this rat race until we have finally earned enough money and power to step out of it.

However, with fame and the riches comes similarly the same vicious cycle. We are all brought up in this society to run the race until our death. The thing about it is how you choose to live your life. Choose wisely.
